Funding Available for Tree Planting

DOEE is seeking eligible entities to work with DOEE to develop and implement tree planting plans on school grounds, District parklands, and on other public spaces and private properties in the District. Application deadline is March 21, 2016. Successful grant applications will include working with the landholders and with the community as appropriate to develop planting plans for each parcel.  Grantees will then work with the landholders to plant all or a subset of the finalized planting plans. Successful grant applications will describe plans to engage the landholder in planting design, tree planting, and tree care.  The amount available for this RFA is approximately $742,500. This amount is subject to continuing availability of funding and approval by the appropriate agencies.

The deadline for application submissions is 3/21/2016, at 4:30 p.m.  Five hard copies must be submitted to the above address, and a complete electronic copy must be e-mailed to 2016treecanopyRFA@dc.gov.

A Pre-application meeting will be held on March 2, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at 1200 First Street N.E. Suite 500
