Members of the Capitol Hill Restoration Society celebrated their 70th Anniversary on Thursday, April 10, 2025 in the heart of our neighborhood – the North Hall of Eastern Market. The public was invited.
The CHRS Board presented a program of memories and thank-yous celebrating seven decades.
For each decade, there were displays and documents about CHRS accomplishments, including:
1. Birth Pangs and Growth;
2. Creation of the Historic District,
3. Safeguarding a Police Station;
4. Eastern Market;
5. Moving a Freeway;
6. Public Education;
7. Continued Outreach, and more.
Merchants from the South Hall of the market provided light catering for the event.
The event was preceded by a brief Membership Meeting.
