CHRS did a walking tour of the alley in square 1075, historically known as 15 1/2 street, in 2010.  

Alley dwellings were built in Square 1075 in 1891.  Early residents worked at the brewery nearby (where Safeway is now).  The Diamond Brewery is pictured in the handout. map
