On Monday, December 4, at 7:30 pm, Kim Williams, author of the recently released book Hidden Alleyways of Washington, DC: A History, will tell the story of Capitol Hill’s inhabited alleys from their development in the 19^th century through government attempts in the early 1900s to eliminate thousands of alley dwellings where the poorest of the city’s residents lived.

On October 28, 2023, from 9 am – 3 pm, CHRS held a free House Expo in the Eastern Market North Hall, featuring a wide variety of home service exhibitors and representatives of city agencies. Read more to see list of exhibitors. Photos of the event.

On October 27, 2023 CHRS hosted a children’s activity table at Hilloween, an annual free street party outside of Eastern Market. We had beads to string, CHRS trick-or-treat bags, and other goodies.
