Historic Preservation Community Day – DCPL

The DC Preservation League, Washington’s citywide nonprofit advocate for historic resources, is hosting a day long 10 am- 4 pm) program on Saturday September 22, 2018 highlighting historic preservation in the city. The event will take place at All Souls Unitarian Church at 1500 Harvard Street, NW.
Join DCPL for lectures, technical discussions and preservation stations. Lectures include the architectural history of DC; the history of the preservation movement; city regulations for historic districts and historic landmarks with information on the homeowner grant program. Technical discussions include how to research your house history, and historic windows.
In the afternoon, participants can peruse a series of preservation stations featuring hands-on demonstrations and vendor consultations. Sample booths include: restoring historic windows, repointing, roof repair, and preserving historic flooring.
