CHRS opposes $20M commuter road through SE Capitol Hill

On November 21, 2013 DDOT unveiled further plans for a Southeast Boulevard along the Anacostia from 11th Street to Barney Circle.  It is a two-lane road that would accommodate bikers, hikers and cars.  In a comment letter, CHRS questions the need for a road, notes adverse effects on the neighborhood, and calls on DDOT to hold a comprehensive study along the entire Capitol Hill waterfront.

Barracks Row Day 2013

Volunteers from the Society staffed a booth at the 2013 Barracks Row Day.  Beads to string and temporary tattoos kept the children busy while we shared our mission with the adults.
