DC Preservation League Mayoral Candidate Historic Preservation Questionnaire
The DC Preservation League, with the input from its partners, put forth a questionnaire to the 2014 candidates for DC Mayor to gain insight on their views on critical issues affecting the preservation, protection, and economic reuse of the city’s built heritage. Plan for Remediation at Washington Gas Site in SE DC
In September 2014, the National Park Service and District of Columbia approved a plan to address contamination in the soil in the area southeast of Water Street, beneath and east of the 11th Street Bridge.

We believe that the owner of the shotgun house at 1229 E Street, SE has engaged in demolition by neglect by failing to maintain the building, and as a result, has blighted the surrounding neighborhood for a number of years. (more…)
