DDOT’s Public Space Committee will address these at two public hearings, the regular meeting to be held Friday, March 15, 2019, 5 pm and a special meeting, Thursday, March 21, 2019, 1 pm. Written comments due by March 15 at 5 pm. CHRS urges Council to keep Anacostia’s west bank road-free

On January 11, 2018, CHRS testified before the Council against DDOT’s (and EventsDC’s) proposed “Park Drive” on the west bank of the Anacostia River.  The Anacostia Riverwalk Trail runs 20 miles along the river, passing near Barney Circle and RFK Stadium. It’s an amazing resource. But DDOT proposes to build a “Park Drive” for vehicles, paralleling the Riverwalk Trail.

Mayor’s Agent denies request for demolition.  Preservationists are applauding a District of Columbia decision to save a 104 year old carriage house near Lincoln Park which had been neglected by owners for many years.
