A History of the U.S. Marine Band – Overbeck Lecture

On Tuesday, September 16, the U.S. Marine Band’s historian, Gunnery Sergeant Kira Wharton, will deliver an Overbeck History Lecture on the renowned band’s origins at the end of the 18th century and its long and colorful history in the Capitol Hill neighborhood.

Threats to people and buildings from Virginia Avenue Tunnel reconstruction

Over 14,000 loaded dump trucks to move through Capitol Hill Tunnel reconstruction will result in adverse effects including vibration that will irritate people and threaten buildings in the Capitol Hill Historic District.

House History Workshops
