The DC Preservation League, with the input from its partners, put forth a questionnaire to the 2014 candidates for DC Mayor to gain insight on their views on critical issues affecting the preservation, protection, and economic reuse of the city’s built heritage. We believe that the owner of the shotgun house at 1229 E Street, SE has engaged in demolition by neglect by failing to maintain the building, and as a result, has blighted the surrounding neighborhood for a number of years.
