Comments of the Capitol Hill Restoration Society concerning DDOT’s Dockless Bicycles and Scooters Demonstration Program, submitted July, 2018

On January 11, 2018, CHRS testified before the Council against DDOT’s (and EventsDC’s) proposed “Park Drive” on the west bank of the Anacostia River.  The Anacostia Riverwalk Trail runs 20 miles along the river, passing near Barney Circle and RFK Stadium. It’s an amazing resource. But DDOT proposes to build a “Park Drive” for vehicles, paralleling the Riverwalk Trail. 

CHRS provided comments in June 2017 on the Environmental Assessment (EA) for the Pennsylvania Avenue SE and Potomac Avenue SE Intersection Improvement Project.

Neighbors on the 1500 block of A Street NE, are fighting against an excessively large building that a developer wants to build on their block.

DDOT is proposing to install blue-white LEDs in streetlights, which many believe to be harsh or even harmful, and has already begun installing these LEDs.  CHRS Testimony before City Council 5/4/2017
