Ellen McCarthy, the new Director of the DC Office of Planning (OP), was the featured speaker at the summer Membership Meeting, Wednesday, June 4, 2014. Ms. McCarthy shared her views and the OP outlook on development and the zoning regulations rewrite, highlighting the Capitol Hill area.In a Q&A format, she discussed the development outlook for Reservation 13, the soccer stadium, the waterfront, CSX, conservation districts, the Zoning Regulation Rewrite and other topics important to Capitol Hill residents. Ms. McCarthy previously served as OP Director from 2004-2007 and coordinated a major update of the Comprehensive Plan. She has represented large institutional clients at two major law firms and currently teaches in the Urban Planning Program at Georgetown University.
